Rangitikei parents looking for a single sex secondary school for their daughters have a rare opportunity for the coming academic year.
Nga Tawa has a small number of day girl spaces for next year now available a result of current day girls opting to move into the boarding house in 2017.
As a special character, integrated school Nga Tawa’s day girl roll is capped at 40 day students.
Principal Lesley Carter says it's always disheartening having to turn local families away because the daygirl roll is filled so quickly, often by families with another daughter at the school.
"We are thrilled to be able to offer these places. We want to be a more accessible option for Rangitikei families to keep their children in the district throughout their schooling. This will open up our single-sex, special character education to more local families.”
It's expected that these places will fill quickly once news spreads. Parents and students interested in the daygirl option at Nga Tawa should contact Enrolments Officer, Tracey Brannelly as soon as possible. Phone 06 327 6429 or firstname.lastname@example.org
