CORE PE Coach

Alison is the Nga Tawa Sports Cooordinator and she has been the driving force behind building the functional fitness and core & strength programme at Nga Tawa.

She has a Bachelors in Sport and Exercise from Massey University. Because of her love for functional fitness, she gravitates towards CrossFit and Olympic Lifting for her own training, but her focus for clients (especially women) has been strength development. She believes it is so important for women to feel strong, as it not only benefits them physically and prevents injury, it also helps to build confidence in what one can achieve and what we are capable of.

Alison also teaches Core PE to the senior students. Her main objective with these classes is to teach fundamental movement skills to the students and help them understand the importance of physical activity. She hopes that when the students finish school, they are better equipped and have a practical knowledge of exercise and strength training and therefore, will continue to incorporate this type of exercise into their lives in the future.
