Given continuous support and encouragement, with supervised prep every evening, Nga Tawa students achieve to very high levels academically. Since the introduction of NCEA in 2002, Nga Tawa pass rates at all three levels have consistently been from 96%-100%, with endorsements above national averages for decile 9 girls' schools. In addition, Maori Achievement, Numeracy and Literacy stand at 100%. Our students regularly perform within the top 10% of New Zealand Schools in academic achievement and are encouraged to set their goals high. Students become independent learners, responsible risk-takers, with the confidence to develop their passions, achieve beyond their expectations and discover future specialties. Almost all students go on to complete tertiary study both in New Zealand and internationally.

2018 NCEA Results:

Level 1 96.3%

Level 2 100%

Level 3 100%

University Entrance 91.7%

We received the highest possible praise from ERO who describes Nga Tawa as “highly successful in achieving excellent outcomes for all students.” The best measure of this report is that our next review date is not until 2023 – the longest possible ERO review period.
