Head of Department – Creative Industries (2MU and 1 MMA)

Nga Tawa Diocesan School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative educator to lead our Creative Industries, overseeing Arts and Technology.

Our current Head of Creative Industries has made a significant contribution to the development and success of Creative Industries at Nga Tawa, establishing a strong and engaging programme for our students. As she moves into retirement, we are looking for a special person to continue the growth and success of the department.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher who is looking to take the next step into a middle management leadership role.

Are you passionate about the creative industries and can contribute energy, creativity and vision to the development of the department? You will be required to teach in some of the following areas:

  • Art Painting
  • Art Design
  • Photography
  • Digital Technology
  • Design and Visual Communication

Please indicate your particular areas of strength and expertise in your application.

About You

Are you an educator who:

  • Is passionate about the creative industries and enthusiastic about sharing this passion with students.
  • Has strong skills and experience in one or more relevant Arts or Technology disciplines.
  • Is creative and innovative.
  • Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Is organised and able to manage the responsibilities of a middle management role.
  • Is collaborative and committed to contributing to a positive department culture.
  • Is interested in developing their leadership capability and taking the next step in their teaching career.

This role would suit an experienced teacher looking to move into middle management, as well as an existing manager with a strong creative industries background.

Skills and Experience

Applicants must:

  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification and be a qualified teacher.
  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification in an appropriate Arts, Technology or related discipline.
  • Have teaching experience in one or more relevant curriculum areas.
