Director of Wellbeing (5MU & 1SMA)

Permanent, full-time

Nga Tawa Diocesan School is a special character, Anglican boarding and day school for year 9-13 girls. 

We are seeking a suitably experienced person to implement our positive education curriculum and be responsible for student wellbeing and behaviour management, in both our day and boarding environments.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, our Director of Wellbeing is responsible for the day-to-day operation of boarding and leading the Wellbeing Team including boarding staff, Deans, Counsellors and Nurse.

Applicants must:

  • Have a vested interest in the wellbeing of our young women and their development
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and families
  • Have an in-depth understanding of school systems, positive psychology/education and restorative practices
  • Be aware of current legislation that guides best practice and policy development
  • Hold a qualification in either health, psychology, education or counselling and be registered with the affiliated professional body

The successful applicant is required to live on-site, and a four bedroom family home is provided as part of the employment package.

Night Boarding Staff

Part-time, permanent and relief positions available

Nga Tawa Diocesan School is a special character boarding and day school for year 9-13 girls.

We have a number of vacancies in our boarding team for night boarding staff.

Applicants must:

  • have the ability to relate to a diverse range of people and build good relationships with teenage girls
  • be resilient self-starters who are able to work independently
  • have an appropriate level of administration and IT skills
  • hold a current first aid certificate

Hours of work will be 10pm – 7.30am, during the school term. Days can be negotiated.
