Our Nga Tawa Equestrian Academy enjoyed a successful week at New Zealand's premier equestrian competition, Horse of the Year held in Hastings 13 – 18 March.
Some highlights include Laura Hare's win in the Level 1 Dressage Pony of the Year. Lilly Carpenter competed well in the Showjumping arena and qualified and competed in the Grand Prix Pony of the Year class for a credible eight faults. Emma Slaney and Katie Lockhart placed well in Slalom events and the entire Nga Tawa team celebrated when Old Girl, Brigitte Smith won Show Jumping Junior Rider of the Year over a big track.
Equestrian Director, Libby Rayner was incredibly proud of the girls. "The class sizes are huge, the warm-up arenas are packed and just getting into the ring on time is a challenge. It was fabulous to see so many of our students compete, achieve goals and set personal bests," she said.
