In 2018, Nga Tawa received the highest possible praise from the Education Review Office (ERO) who describes Nga Tawa as "highly successful in achieving excellent outcomes for all students." The best measure of this report is that their next review date is not until 2023 – the longest possible ERO review period.

The review team's findings are resoundingly affirming of Nga Tawa's academic programmes; the boarding environment; the responsive, restorative approach to pastoral care and the strong foundation of history and core values.
