Christy’s mum was keen for her to go to school abroad. Christy loved horses and insisted she’d only go to a school where she could ride. They came across Nga Tawa in an online search. Before she knew it, Christy was on a plane to New Zealand.
Where she lived in Hong Kong, Christy had to drive 30 minutes to a riding school to ride. From her bedroom at Nga Tawa, it was a one minute walk to the stables where her school pony, Blaze, lived. She could ride him before school, at lunch and after school if she liked.
Christy spent four years at Nga Tawa and fell in love with New Zealand. She loved being in nature and made amazing friends boarding. She studied hard and did really well at school – Christy even won a scholarship to Otago University where she went on to study Health Science.
