Nga Tawa Diocesan School’s special character is founded on its Anglican Christian values. The Chapel of St. Leonard is at the heart of school life. It stands proudly inside the main gates. Regular Chapel services reinforce Christian school values.
The special character which was originally defined in the Integration Agreement 1982 also makes mention of the boarding establishment, and opportunities for students to develop their skills in music, the arts, sports and equestrian.
Our holistic approach to education means that students are encouraged to achieve academically while growing physically and emotionally via extracurricular, community and leadership programmes. Parents and extended families are encouraged to participate in school life and are invited to a variety of calendar events; from Athletics and Swimming Sports to House Drama, House Music, Soirees, House Dinners, Chapel Services and other social occasions.
