Aimee has been with Nga Tawa since 2015, starting her journey with Performing Arts Administration (which she still does), and joined the equestrian coaching staff in 2019.
Aimee has a varied equestrian background, starting out with local sports meetings and shows. She later found distance riding when she moved to Wellington as a young adult. She has held both North Island and National titles in this sport and in 2015 co-founded Rangitikei Area Distance Riders (RADRs) which is one of the largest distance-riding clubs in New Zealand.
Aimee has produced her own horses through to open level and enjoys encouraging new riders into the sport. Her competitive riding has taken a bit of a back seat in recent years her current focus is growing RADRs and helping her daughters compete at horse events. She enjoys giving back to the sport and still enjoys getting out for beach and farm rides when time allows.
During the summer Aimee enjoys organising horse events, helping run distance riding events, and is the events secretary for Nga Tawa equestrian interschool events.
