Sally is a Nga Tawa Old Girl (1970-75). She was head of Barker House, Head of Netball, Head of Equestrian and a Sacristan. Following school she gained a Master of Business Studies (Valuation and Property Management) from Massey University, a Diploma in Physical Education from University of Otago and a Diploma in Teaching from Christchurch Teachers College.
Following an extensive career riding horses in eventing, competing to the very top level (including winning an Olympic silver medal), Sally is still actively competing in the discipline of show jumping.
As a coach, Sally has had wide-ranging experience from coaching pony club teams to Eventing Championships and taking area teams to Show Jumping Championships. Sally also travelled to Nanjing in China for the Youth Olympics as Emily Fraser's coach, who won a gold medal.
